UPCOMING EVENTS & PROGRAMS

“What’s Your Story?”  Free writing class available for seniors
Have you always wanted to write but didn’t know how to start? Starting Monday, August 1, Golden Manor Jewish Senior Services will be offering a 5 session class for seniors to help do just this. From 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. every other Monday through Sept. 26, Warren Lieberman — self-published author, The Rivard Report contributor, retired Administrator of Temple Beth-El and GMJSS board member — will lead classes with the goal of helping students begin a writing journey that will enable them to share their imaginations and experiences. Both experienced or novice writers are welcome. The sessions will be held at the GMJSS office, located at 13409 NW Military Hwy., Suite 210.

All you will need is your imagination and memories for a fun, low-pressure experience. Fiction and non-fiction genres will be explored — actual genres will be student determined.

After the first session, participants will be expected to bring to each class a piece to be shared with the group of no more than 800 words. Copies will be made at the GMJSS office. If you already have a written piece for the first session please bring it.
If you have a laptop or tablet that you’d like to bring in, please do so. Notebooks, dictionaries, thesauruses and pens will be provided. Attend all sessions and receive a certificate and special gift!

This class is restricted to a maximum of 10 participants and registration is required.
